The hidden world of waffles & mochi
Creative director, director
The Hidden World of Waffles & Mochi is an interactive destination with an AR component built to support the debut of Netflix’s wonderful kids show Waffles & Mochi & celebrate their initiative with the Partnership For A Healthier America. We were able to donate one million meals (the maximum) to families in need.
The first season of the show is a ten episode series & each episode is structured around an ingredient, so we created a hub with ten ingredient portals, each with games, recipes, cartoons, and clips from the show to keep families entertained and encourage healthy food choices. Each ingredient you interact with earns a badge, which donates a meal.
The whole thing is accessible online, but even cooler, you can use your phone’s camera to launch any of the ingredients just by pointing it at the right produce in a Walmart store. Very magical, very fun.
I was creative director of the entire experience, from games to recipes to cartoons to the implementation of the tech. A huge learning experience and a lot of fun. I also directed the cartoons because I love cartoons.
On this page I have included some of the promos we made and turned a few of the interactive videos into just…videos you can watch, but I suggest you go to the site to get the full experience. Or you can read this Ad Week article about it.
